Among the various use cases explored within the SCENE project, content delivery in a good opportunity to improve the quality of experience for users of public transports.
The SCENE platform will collect the data from sensors disseminated around the city and it will be embedded inside buses. Then why not using the system to improve the quality of experience for passengers?
In order to do so, JCP is developing a portal accessible via the SCENE gateway signal, which will enclose a series of digital contents of interest for citizens.
These contents can be local news or practical information for commuters, professionals and tourists. The added-value for them? They access easily useful contents for free, which is a great advantage for international visitors or students.
The added-value for cities? They create interaction with the citizens and enhance the quality of transport services.
The interest for content providers is to push their contents to a local audience and enlarge their community.
Several content providers have already agreed to provide videos, article and various types of contents for the purpose of SCENE.
- With 53 local editions and 400 000 visitors each day on their website, Ouest-France is the most popular local newspaper in all western France.
- TV Rennes is a local TV providing information in all topics of interest for Rennes inhabitants: sport, politics, local initiatives, culture. It covers all the major events taking place in Rennes region.
- Destination Rennes is a local agency for tourism and international development of the city. Via its website and apps, it promotes the services of local businesses and provides many tips to enjoy « Rennes way of life ».
- France 3 Bretagne is the regional channel of national public TV is Brittany.
Requirements for the authentication, administration, protection and design of the portal are being defined in collaboration with these content providers.
A prototype version of the portal will be released in the coming weeks.
